Born in Istanbul in 1963, Erdal Bahçıvan graduated from Business Administration Department at Boğaziçi University Faculty of Administrative Sciences in 1986 after completing his high school education at German High School. He began to work for the family business of Bahçıvan Food Co. during his school years, and is currently the General Manager of the same company. Erdal Bahçıvan has been a member of the Assembly at ICI since 1987, and has served as Board Member -ICI, (1989 - 1997), Deputy Chairman- ICI (1993 -1997), Deputy Chairman of the Assembly- ICI (2001-2005) and Chairman of the Assembly- ICI (2009 - 2013). He was elected as Chairman of the Board in May 2013. He assumed the roles of Chairman of SETBİR and of Food Industry Assembly at Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges from 2004 to 2010. Fluent in German and English, Erdal Bahçıvan is married with two children.
