Zeynep Bodur Okyay / President of Assembly

Born in Istanbul, Zeynep Bodur Okyay graduated from Italian High School and Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Management Engineering. Zeynep Bodur Okyay attended postgraduate executive development program at Harvard University. Between 1992-1993, she held office as candidate manager at production planning and production management units of Çanakkale Ceramic Plant located in Çan district of Çanakkale. In 1995, she was appointed as President and Executive Board Member of Kale Group’s Marketing Companies. Since July 2007, she has been serving as the President and CEO of Kale Group. Zeynep Bodur Okyay is an active member in the boards of several NGO’s, associations, foundations, and chambers. Currently, Okyay serves as the President of the Assembly of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI), Vice President of IKV (Economic Development Foundation), Member of Board of Directors and Member of Executive Board at Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) and President of the Italian Business Council and President of EU Relations Council of at the same organization, member of Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), President of Ceramics and Refractory Materials Council and Vice President of Women Entrepreneurs Council at Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB). She also chairs Dr. (h.c.) İbrahim Bodur Kaleseramik Education, Health and Social Welfare Foundation KSV. Okyay, having been appointed as Chair of Executive Board of C20 (Civil Society) in 2015 within presidency term of Turkey, has also contributed to founding the Turkish Chair at Harvard University, having carried out activities in the Harvard Alumni Association, of which she is among the founders. In 2006, Zeynep Bodur Okyay was awarded the title of 'Cavaliere del Lavoro' , in 2014, she was awarded” Ufficiale Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana “ for her contributions to Turkish-Italian relations. Having been awarded the "Turkey in Europe Franco Nobili Award" for her contributions to relations between Turkey and the European Union in 2010, Zeynep Bodur Okyay received the Turkish Grand National Assembly Outstanding Service Award in the same year. Fluent in Italian and English, Zeynep Bodur Okyay is married with one child.
