11th Industry Congress will be held in Istanbul on December 19-20, 2012 with the theme of "Sustainable Competitiveness: Regional Production, Global Power".


Manufacturing company representatives, especially SMEs, public sector, academia and
non-governmental organizations will be participating in the 11th Industry Congress where distinguished national and international figures are being invited as speakers to share their knowledge, experience and insight.


First day keynote speaker of the Congress, one of the world's leading experts on strategy, globalization and emerging markets, Professor of Global Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland, Chief Advisor to China India Institute and visiting Professor of Strategy, Stanford University & INSEAD, Dr. Anil GUPTA will focus on the theme "Changing Dynamics Of Global Market".

Anil Gupta is a widely known expert on assessment and redesign of global growth strategies, competitive advantage, emerging economies, and corporate innovation and entrepreneurship.


In his studies, Prof. Gupta provides new insights on changing business realities; emergence of new global competitors, mega markets, how to reduce global cost structures and how to boost a company's technology and innovation base in order to develop winning strategies to go global and to transform global presence into global advantage.


He also seeks an answer to why far too many companies are blind to the ongoing transformation of the global economy and the real opportunities and challenges resulting from this transformation and offers concrete guidelines that individuals and companies can use to develop a global mindset.

Mr. Gupta is the author, co-author and co-editor of several papers and books: Getting China and India Right (2009), The Quest for Global Dominance (2008), Smart Globalization (2003) and Global Strategy and Organization (2003).


He is also the co-editor of recently published "Global Strategies for Emerging Asia" (2012), exploring how to develop a strategy to benefit from new patterns of 21st century trade and thrive in the Asian marketplace and explains how companies can fight and win against low-cost competition from Asian companies.


Anil Gupta is Professor of Global Strategy and Entrepreneurship at The University of Maryland and acted as Visiting Professor of Strategy at INSEAD and Stanford University. 


He also serves as a Chief Advisor to "China India Institute", a Washington DC-based research and consulting organization.


Mr. Gupta is a regular columnist for Bloomberg BusinessWeek and his articles have also appeared in leading media such as The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, China Daily and Economic Times.


The recipient of numerous awards for excellence in research and teaching, Gupta has been recognized by Business Week as an Outstanding Professor, and ranked by Management International Review as one of the "Top 20 North American Superstars" for research in strategy and organization.

George Yip is a leading researcher of management innovation, strategic transformation, international competitiveness and global business.


In his studies, Prof. Yip focuses on how companies create a global identity, if they are committed to worldwide or domestic employment and whether businesses are interdependent or too autonomous. George Yip also underlines the fact that the companies need to manage their relationships with customers with a globally integrated approach and he suggests a systematic framework for developing and implementing such global customer management programmes.


Professor Yip is the author of several well received books including Total Global Strategy: Managing for Worldwide Competitive Advantage, has been published in ten languages and was updated as Total Global Strategy-3rd Edition. The book addresses the most challenging task faced by companies: How to deal with globalization and the resulting need for globally integrated strategies... Yip argued in this study that "the global company does not have to be everywhere but has the capability to go everywhere, deploy any assets and access any resources and maximizes profit on a global basis".


Yip's other books include Managing Global Customers (2007), Asian Advantage: Key Strategies for Winning in the Asia-Pacific Region (1998), Strategies for Central and Eastern Europe (2000) and Barriers to Entry: A Corporate Strategy Perspective (1983). His latest book Strategic Transformation was published in 2012.


George Yip is Professor of Management and Co-Director of the Centre on China Innovation at China Europe International Business School. From 2008-2011, he was Dean of Rotterdam School of Business at Erasmus University. Earlier, he had worked as a professor at Cambridge University, UCLA, and Harvard Business Schools. Professor Yip is also a Visiting Professor at Imperial College Business School and is a Senior Fellow of the Advanced Institute of Management Research. He also holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in economics from Cambridge University; and an MBA and doctorate from Harvard Business School.


Apart from his academic career, Mr. Yip has twelve years of full-time business experience in international business, marketing, and strategy, working in the United States and the United Kingdom.


He has won both "best teaching" and "best research" awards and has numerous published articles on strategy and marketing in world's leading magazines such as Business Strategy Review, Chief Executive, Harvard Business Review, International Marketing Review, Journal of International Management and Management International Review.
