Itır Erhart graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of English Language, Literature and Philosophy. She completed her master's degree in philosophy at the same university and started her philosophy education at Cambridge University in the same year. After earning M.Phil. degree, she started to teach at Istanbul Bilgi University.

Currently giving lectures on gender, human rights, sports, and media at Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Communication. Itır is co-founder of Adım Adım which is Turkey's first charity run organization. Due to her work in this field, she was a guest on the "Change Makers" program in 2009 and received the Ten Outstanding Young Persons special jury award in 2010 and was selected as an Ashoka Fellow in 2014. Itır Erhart is a Founding Member of Adım Adım and Açık Açık platforms, a Board Member at Ashoka Foundation and a Member of the Board of Trustees of TEGV.
