July traitor FETO coup attempt was the longest, saddest and the most painful event of recent period Republic and democracy history. What a pity we witnessed that siblings shot each other in that damned night. Numerous innocent citizens from children, teen to the old protecting the democracy were martyred for democracy.

The Turkish Grand National Assembly’s being bombed by the planes of this nation left indelible marks on our minds.

This inexcusable flagrant attack was cut to shreds by being eliminated thanks to the lofty attitude of our nation and the praiseworthy cooperation between the government agencies. As Istanbul Chamber of Industry, we took sides with the democracy, national will and elected Government as from the first hours of the coup attempt without any hesitation.

When we looked behind after one year, the struggle of our nation in unity against the coup was praiseworthy. If we look to the position of our real sector and industry within this period, Turkish economy hasn’t lost the Turkish private sector’s economic activity and dynamism against this treacherous coup attempt which is staggering as much as it can cause massive destructions in the most developed countries of the world and followingly, the inhumane terrorist incidents. Private sector performed its the most leading duty and responsibility in terms of relying on its government, nation and country by demonstrating the resistance for fighting and struggling against the difficulties reflecting from the past in the difficult period of 2016 far better. Luck us that the wheels of our economy and industry haven’t stopped, couldn’t stopped.

While drawing attention to the wheels of our economy which haven’t stopped, I want to mention about an important incident which will gain new speed for these wheels in the following term. This incident is the Production Reform Package which is legalized by the approval of our President of the Republic following the adoption in Turkish Grand National Assembly. The Production Reform Package to which we have contributed intensely with our suggestions as Istanbul Chamber of Industry aims to pave the way for the industry investments which will empower the refreshment in our economy.

Apart from the improvement of investment environment, the Production Reform Package includes regulations concerning creating the new industry fields, improving the infrastructure and logistic network of OSB, expanding the current industry fields, removing the TRT share collecting from industry businesses and establishing private industry regions. It brings regulations concerning our finding industry parcel on easier terms as industrialists and making discounts on the tax we are paying. I want to emphasize that this package is of great importance in terms of empowerment of our industry and improvement of our production life.

I believe that we will witness the positive effects of the Production Reform Package on the production life and industry soon.
