Common Dream

  • Archive

I have no doubt that a strong Türkiye that can compete in the global market is not only the dream of us, the industrialists, but that of everyone living in these lands. Of course, it is not easy to achieve this dream in a short time period. In order to have a happy ending for this journey, our baggages should be full of “qualified education”, “science”, R&D” and “creativity” terms.

The indispensable guide for every troublesome journey and goal is the patience. However, we can use the human capital of our country in an efficient way with breakthroughs guided by this guide and we can enhance our R&D capacity and increase the number of out patents. Briefly: We can develop and strengthen the knowledge and advanced technology oriented production economy in our country.

We structured our ICI 14th Industry Congress that we organized the last month on this understanding. During the congress of which main theme that we specified as “Domestic But Universal, Today But Tomorrow”, we put forward the definition of domestic production we always stand by in the strongest way. Of course, I would like to underline that we did it without being stuck between admiration to the imported product and fetishism of domestic production in the panels, sessions and workshops that we organized. I would like to thank for all participants who shared their time in such busy days and participated in our congress and made contributions by joining our interactive workshops.

We organized an important event regarding a very important project which gave us hope for the future. As you will remember, we came together with Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Industry and Technology, Istanbul Technical University and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce for a very lofty aim regarding our education, labor force life three months ago and signed “Professional Education Business Union Protocol” all together.

Within this scope, I would like to express that our committees and professional groups determined with a mutual and meticulous work so far, are matched with certain vocational high schools. The curriculum, the development of the teachers, the determination of the future internship programs of schools, and the future plans of the selected sector and the selected school at a cellular meeting point will be determined all together.

As Istanbul Chamber of Industry, we stated that we would perform this mission that we had undertaken with this project with a great honor on the day we signed the protocol. So, we took a tangible step regarding this project which has been matured day by day. We brought the teachers of the schools we matched with our industrialists together at the "Vocational Education Cooperation Project Introduction Meeting". I have no doubt that such meetings will yield fruits for the following academic years.

Dreams come true with patience and effort... On this occasion, I congratulate your Ramadan Feast and I wish you peaceful and loving holidays.
