As Istanbul Chamber of Industry, we have explained our thoughts and vision on every platform about the improvement and development of Istanbul's "industrial identity" for years. And we still do. Because like in the leading metropolitan cities of the world, for the brand city of Türkiye, we say that “Istanbul is not Istanbul without Industry, and industry is not industry without Istanbul.”

We hosted Mr. Murat Kurum, the Minister of Environment and Urbanization in our latest Assembly meeting to discuss our approach regarding the creation of new Organized Industrial Sites that we always talk about which is needed by the industrial vision of Istanbul the last month.

To be honest, we heard promising words from Mr. Kurum that gave us hope for the creation of a new generation OIS for the both sides of Istanbul which we have been requesting for a long time.

As you will read the details on the following pages, our Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Istanbul has an industrial tradition and vision. It is of great importance to move some industrial sectors out of the central parts of Istanbul and to new and modern areas in line with this vision. We will transform the industrial identity and future of Istanbul in the most radical, active and effective way. I have a strong belief that the Istanbul Chamber of Industry will provide any support for us in this regard. We will have taken very important steps to move the industrial zone which has been stuck in the city in Istanbul outside the city. We will be a role model for other cities to realize an ideal project with technological qualifications and modern structuring.

I would like to express that we are ready to provide any support expected by Mr. Kurum for the steps to be taken in line with this vision. As ICI, we have announced the “500 Top Industrial Organizations of Türkiye - 2018” which was the first of our researches regarding the Largest Industrial Organizations of Türkiye that we have announced for more than 50 years. We shared “ICI Second Top 500” which was the second chapter of the research last month.

ICI Second Top 500 is a research that puts forward mostly the performance of our organizations in the nature of SME, and we can observe the performance of organizations in SME nature in our country on a regular basis annually. Despite of the all challenges experienced, the research results reveal that ICI Second Top 500 organizations continue to contribute to the economic growth of Türkiye with their investments and demonstrate that they stand by Türkiye and Turkish economy. I would like to thank our industrialists for their precious efforts and sharing their valuable experiences and knowledge with us.

The eyes of the world was on Osaka of Japan where G20 summit was held. Undoubtedly, the most important subject of the summit was the “World Trade Wars”. We have addressed this important topic and summit in our file titled “Trade Wars and G20” with its results. Closely following the transforming world will benefit for all us of.

I congratulate you, the volunteers on the Eid al-Adha, wishing to bring love, fellowship, peace, happiness and abundance for your works.
