We are in effort of providing service in much more qualified and effectual way for our members. As a result of this understanding, our Odakula building has gone through an extensive renewal process thoroughly with great efforts in the light of environmentalist and smart equipments to meet the today’s needs properly. Official opening of our Odakula building which has been renewed in the 65th year of ICI full of pride and success was realized by hosting Binali Yıldırım, the Prime Minister in the June Assembly meeting.

In this happy and meaningful opening and meeting, apart from Our Prime Minister, Nurettin Canikli, the Vice President, Bülent Tüfenkci, the Minister of Customs and Trade, Cevdet Yılmaz, the old Minister of Development, and Mehmet Muş, Istanbul Deputy of Justice and Development Party, Vasip Şahin, the Governor of İstanbul and Kadir Topbaş, the Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality were together with us.

Odakule building, which entered into service in 1976 with the vision and great devotion of our old industrialists and which was a highly big project taken into consideration the its period, occupies an important position as a symbol of Istanbul and one of the firs skyscrapers of our country in terms of Turkish architecture history. Lucky us; we have brought the features reflecting the era’s technology into our distinguished building. I hope that our renewed Odakule building will be advantageous and auspicious for our ICI community.

While prioritizing the purpose of making intense effort for our industry and economy, we announced the results of our research of “Top 500 Industrial Enterprises of Türkiye - 2016” which had been waited impatiently on 5 June 2017 in a press conference. We were able to bring the announcement date of ICI Top 500 Industrial Enterprises forward in this year, as it is every year. Furthermore, this year we presented our research with a richer content and renewed design. Another renewal for this year was the entrance into force of our web site in www.iso500.org.tr which enables much easier access to the data concerning this extensive research.

Some important detections from this year’s ICI 500 research are briefly as follows: Firstly, our industrialists fulfilled their responsibilities successfully against our country and economy even within this general negativity table in 2016 which was a year of difficulties.

While Türkiye’s economy showed a growth by 2,9% within the year, our industry sector showed a performance above the general of economy. Thus, the industry became the sector which caused the growth with its 3,9% performance by providing the most qualified contribution for the economic growth.

Together with this, financing management is continuing to be the main problem of the industry in recent years. This year’s data has revealed the fact that unfortunately the industrialist has lost more than half of the activity profitability as financing cost.

Türkiye’s 500-year-old Big Industry Institution is a work providing very precious data for our industry and economy. We will be in the effort of improving this work in line with the needs of the era.
