Searching out for Opportunities, Focusing on Solution

Türkiye and China are taking important steps towards a cooperation process which has historical importance in recent years. We, in this term, held our “Opportunities for China Country Day and Türkiye” meeting in November with the aim of moving the business opportunities between China and Türkiye to a better spot in Istanbul which is always and historical center.

We got together with Abdulkadir Emin Önen, the Principal Consultant of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkish Republic, and who will come into office as Beijing Ambassador of Türkiye in the following days and Bo Qian, Istanbul Counsul General of People Republic of China and our distinguished guests at this meeting.

We are experiencing an historical period especially after the relations between two countries have increased the level of “Strategical Cooperation” in 2010 by being strengthened in recent years. “Belt and Road” project announced by Chine in 2013 which aims to refresh the silk road integrates with “Central Corridor” project which aims our country and Europe to connect to Central Asia upon the Anatolia and then to China. As a part of this new silk road, Baku-Tiflis-Kars railway which came into service short while ago is showing the common ground where the trade and investment priorities of Türkiye and Chine meet up. As China Country Day event showed us, we will continue our country day events which we believe that they are beneficial and fruitful for our industrialists in the following months.

Especially in economy and politics, highly important cases are happening in the world on a global scale. We are witnessing events which will shape our future, so instead of trying to understand these cases through a day long, immediate assessments, approaching through historical perspective and point of view has crucial importance. Istanbul Chamber of Industry which celebrates its 65th year in this kind of a period always grounds on looking to the situations thoroughly with the power which it took from its long-standing past. Accompanied with this understanding, we talked about important cases in the world concerning our country, economy and us, the industrialists closely with Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı in October Assembly meeting.

We always attach importance to the problems related to TSI which is on the agenda of our industrialists and their solutions. Lastly, we shared opinions in the visit of Sebahittin Korkmaz, TSI President to our Board of Directors on latest works carried out in the institution in the last period and the way of improving the process of receiving TSI document...

We are making great effort for our industrialist to reach qualified, sustainable and reasonable financing. Within the scope of this aim, as ICI Board of Directors, we got together with The Board of Directors of The Banks Associations of Türkiye under the presidency of Hüseyin Aydın in the past few days. We evaluated what we can do together so that our industry can gain more productive and competitive features with the cooperation of industry world and finance world and what steps can be take.

We will continue our works with an understanding searching out for opportunities and focusing on solution within a great encouragement and excitement...
