It is a common is a common ideal for everyone living in this ancient city to be united around for Istanbul to be a more livable city and become a “brand city” pointed out by the world with its history, culture, industry and tourism. We, the industrialists believe in this ideal and put our efforts to realize it all the time. We are acting in collaboration with all of our stakeholders, so.

Undoubtedly, our Governorship is one of the institutions we work in collaboration in this path. So, we hosted Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul in the last September Assembly meeting, and discussed “The Future, Problems and Collaboration Opportunities of our Industry along with the Vision of Istanbul Appreciating the Power and Value of Production.”

Following this sincere and effective meeting, we came together with Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu, the President of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality which is our second largest stakeholder in the October Assembly meeting. We discussed “The Place and Importance of Industry in the Development and Future Vision of Istanbul, the Brand City” with Mr. İmamoğlu.

As Industrialists, we seized the opportunity to share the integrated perspective of our Chamber regarding the restructuring of the industry with Mr. İmamoğlu. We expressed that the efforts to exclude the industry in the ecosystem of Istanbul which dates back to centuries, especially in the recent years will not be resulted in efficient developments, but in negative outcomes for this ancient city. Because we believe that the industry should live together with the other values that constitutes the identity of Istanbul like the natural and historical elements.

Within this regard, we shared that the industry of Istanbul might enhance its competition capacity by turning the environmental threats to opportunities by means of suitable technology and clean production applications. We emphasized that city planning centered on the hearth of smart city strategies. We underlined that the main expectation of Istanbul Chamber of Industry is to address the interests of Istanbul and those of industry all together when determining on the strategy of the province.

As Istanbul Chamber of Industry, we organize “Country Days” events that provides opportunity to get to know different countries and cultures with the aim of contributing to the industrial and commercial life of Istanbul during the recent years. These events where the foundations of significantly efficient collaborations are laid play an important role in bringing people, economies and industries together.

To this end, we organized three countries day events in the recent weeks. Our industrialists show great interest in such events. Privileged speakers and panelists highly informed the participants about the countries during the country days of Moldova, North Macedonia and Albania. Our events will continue for different countries in the following months...
