The Bell-Shaped Model with New Reform and Investment Term

We need to establish a much more stable and stronger economical environment with a great speed. To say more clearly, we do not have time to lose for the sake of our economy, industry and social welfare. It's time to reinforce the Türkiye perception in the global market and to become a more attractive country for the investors.

Starting from this understanding, we hosted Nurettin Canikli, our Vice President on 26 April 2017 in ICI Assembly meeting of which main agenda item was “Importance of Türkiye’s New Vision In Terms of Our Economy and Industry After the Constitutional Amendment”. In this meeting, I emphasized the points of realization of the reforms in harmonization and coordination, avoiding from multiple headed-system in economy in the new term, providing synergy and collaboration among the all parties, establishing closer cooperation and dialog with the real sector so that the structural reforms which will be realized in varying areas can be effective and productive.

As ICI, we have a solution-oriented understanding which prioritizes the problems of our members. We do not expect the change to be realized only by the government. We have to change, too. We support cooperation between public and private sector through a brand-new notion. I believe we should adopt a new understanding which will provide depth and quality in the change and transformation in both economic institutions and in economy I consider that this meeting is an important step taken in line with this understanding. We visited Çanakkale within the scope of traditional visits to Anatolian cities on 12-13 May, 2017. This visit in which ICI Assembly Members and Professional Committee Members had high interest was so productive. We made evaluations on investment and employment opportunities in Çanakkale with Bülend Engin, Çanakkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and Osman Okyay, ÇCCI Assembly President.

Çanakkale has a great moral meaning for Türkiye. We devoted the second day of our tour to respect for the heroes of Çanakkale. This city has a value which will be a role model for Türkiye. Thousands of people from Black Sea, the East, the Balkans got engaged in one and only matter all together and struggled against it in Çanakkale War. This is the formula of Türkiye. Türkiye has an only formula: Çanakkale. If we are able to show this cooperation, embracement in tomorrows, there is no need to seek for another formula. Secondly, there is a Bell-shaped model which is an example economically. The Bell-shaped model created by İbrahim Bodur was formed together with state, nation, capital and employees. This is a model which has transformed a tiny town into a industry empire and brought its working people, children, grandchildren, social aids together by virtually a foundation understanding; and can make people not afraid of capital, but embrace it. And this is a model that gets people have pleasure out of life, instead of getting pleasure out of it on its own. This country is not in need of models of South Korea, Japan and Germany. The model is within us; it is enough, if we can create several Bell-shaped models in Türkiye.

We have gotten into Ramadan which is the month of mercy and blessing. In this month where the love and sharing excel in, whole Türkiye, especially Istanbul, gets into a different atmosphere. The beauties of Istanbul iftars where the loves are gathered together, and the tables are blessed with sharing and solidarity are very difficult to tell. I congratulate the month of Ramadan of all Islam world and you, precious industrialists while experiencing these beauties.
