Vocational High Schools, Development Banking and Occupational Health

One of the shining stars during the pandemic period was vocational high schools. You will read the details about the social role that our vocational high schools have undertaken in the fight against Covid-19 and about their contributions to the need of health materials and manufacture of inhalation device in the following pages.

But, here I would like to express that vocational high schools in Türkiye is being reborn. Our teachers, school principles and valuable students regained their places within our hearts with their successes and contributions to the manufacturing of masks and inhalation devices with very limited opportunities but with the excitement and willingness which are their biggest capitals.

Our vocational high schools that have been forgotten for nearly 30 years and lost their brand value in each day unfortunately eliminates the perception of the past with the stories that they have written in this period.

These schools raise entrepreneurs that will contribute to our future and national economy. I hope they will proceed in the path of becoming actors in the future’s Türkiye that they have already deserved to do so. We are very proud that we have lead the way, collaborated and involved in this project. Indeed, Türkiye is writing a history of vocational high schools. I am very proud to say this. We will leave this period behind us in one way or another but it is certain that vocational high schools will take their places in Türkiye that they deserve. I strongly believe that we will witness this in the high school preferences of this year after the spike we experienced in the last year.

I would like to express that we, the industrialist have undertaken an important role in the process of our vocational high schools positioning in the most prestigious corner of our educational world again. If we need to remind, as ICI we signed the Vocational High Schools Protocol with the T.R Ministry of Education 1,5 years ago and have supported 35 schools within this scope. Here, I would like to thank Mr. Ziya Selçuk, Minister of Educatation, Mr. Mahmut Özer, the Deputy Minister of Education that collaborate with us, the industrialists in the path of gaining prestige for the vocational high schools for their contributions that promote our courage and excitement.

As ICI, I would like to mention about our meaningful study in the fight against Covid-19, which is the “Standard of Struggle Against Epidemic/Pandemic Specific to Covid-19” that we have prepared. We have initiated this study so that even a single employee should not be caused harm which is our main priority in the production process with new rules in the new normal. Because we believe that only if our people have good health, they can transform all processes of production into a safe and sustainable one. I hope this study about which you will read the details in the following pages will be beneficial for the industrialists.

Our primary goal is still to accelerate our economic development and develop our industry with new investments. In this regard, we hosted Mr. İbrahim Halil Öztop, the General Manager of Turkish Development and Investment Bank with the agenda titled as “Importance of the Vision and Objectives of Turkish Development and Investment Bank in Industry-Based Development in terms of the Future of Industry” in the June Assembly meeting. It was a productive meeting in terms of taking effective and efficient steps for the future.

It is pleasing to see the wheels of our industry spinning even under pandemic conditions, Which shows us that the industrialism is a work of enthusiasm and excitement...
