ICI Chairman Bahçıvan Welcomes Tunisian Consul General Malek

Tunisian Consul General in Istanbul, Hedi Malek paid a courtesy visit to Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan. In the meeting held in Odakule, Turkish industry's and business world's investment and export to Tunisia and the steps that can be taken to facilitate cooperation with Tunisian business people were discussed. Underlining the long background of Türkiye-Tunisia relations, Erdal Bahçıvan stated that these positive economical relations should not be affected negatively from the custom taxes lately applied to import in some product groups by Tunisia, reminding the recent improvement in the trade volume between these countries. And Tunisian General Consul stated that the country had to take some precautions to decrease import due to some recent economical issues and the so-called customs taxes are not applied just to Türkiye but all countries. In the meeting, it was agreed that the organizations should always play a supporting and encouraging role regarding the steps that can be taken to increase the trade and investment volume between these two countries. For this, the cooperation between these two organizations should be strengthened and strong communication channels should be established.
