Mohamed Rizvi Hassen, Ankara Ambassador of Sri Lanka Visited ICI

Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) hosted Mohamed Rizvi Hassen, Ankara Ambassador of Sri Lanka to evaluate the commercial relationship between two countries. In the visit hosted by İrfan Özhamaratlı, ICI Deputy Chairperson of Board of Directors, Yoshitha Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka Commercial Consultant and Mehmet Emin Berk, Trade Coordinator accompanied to Ambassador Hassen.

Özhamaratlı, ICI Deputy Chairperson provided information to Ambassador Hassen about Turkish and Istanbul economies and activities of ICI. Reminding that there was a commercial consulate in Sri Lanka during Ottoman Period and the historical and commercial relations between two countries were intense so, Özhamaratlı mentioned that the trade volume between the two countries are under its potential and it should be improved.

Sri Lanka Ambassador Hassen stated that one of the significant sources of their country is tourism and Turkish firms can carry out common manufacturing activities in free zones with Sri Lanka firms. Hassen stated that having a direct flight of THY to Sri Lanka will be beneficial for the increase of the business volume between two countries.

The projects to be developed between the two countries for further commercial relations were discussed in the meeting and mutual communication was underlined to be improved.
