The Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) Welcomes Representatives from Morocco’s Fez-Meknes Chamber of Trade, Industry and Services

Members of the Moroccan delegation from the Fez-Meknes Chamber of Trade, Industry and Services, who are in Istanbul on occasion of the Türkiye-Africa Economy and Business Forum held on November 2-3, 2016, visited the Istanbul Chamber of Industry. ICI Vice Chairman İrfan Özhamaratlı hosted the meeting, which was also attended by the ICI Board Treasurer, Sadık Ayhan Saruhan.

During the meeting the Fez-Meknes Chamber of Trade, Industry and Services Second Vice President El Mehdi Laraqui Hussaini and Board Treasurer Sofia Lebbar provided information about their region’s economy, with particular focus on agriculture, textile, leather, chemical and motor vehicle industries, as well as its tourism potential. Hussaini reminded Morocco’s position as a gateway to Africa, an advantage that should be leveraged by Turkish investors, he added. The meeting also saw discussions on how to develop the already close collaboration between Turkish and Moroccan enterprises, and mutual steps to take in order to reinforce the bridge between the business circles of the two countries.
